Incredible time lapse video of Space from the International Space Station

It’s been a while since I posted a really good time lapse video, but this one may take the cake. It’s a video compiled of photos taken from the International Space Station. I don’t know exactly how many photos were used, but must be thousands. Space is such a beautiful sight to see.

This is some serious photoshopping

My mind was just blown. I like to dabble in Photoshop here and there to play around, but this here my friends is serious business. Artist Alexander Koshelkov created a masterpiece called Luftbanza Airlines, which is a beuatuful wallpaper created using Adobe Photoshop CS6. Dei Gaztelumendi was commissioned to create the cover for Xabiroi Comic Book Magazine. During the process, he created a time lapse video. The details in his illustration are just remarkable. Dei had full creativity rights on what to make the cover about. So he did a spin on his Post-Apocalyptic Kids series. The end result is awesome.

Time Lapse: The White Salmon River Restoration

In Washington state, the White Salmon of the Klamath River have become endangered because of the Condit Dam which stops river flow and the salmon from migrating to cold water springs. The White Salmon have gone from millions to less than one hundred thousand. The solution was to open up the Condit Dam to let the salmon go which also helps the local native american tribes who rely on the salmon for food and also the farmers who need the water for irrigation.

Time Lapse video: LA Light

Over a period of six months Colin Rich created this time lapse video of the radiant lights of Los Angeles. Making the video didn’t go without incident as Colin says in the description, “First off, LA might be the entertainment capital of the world, but it sure is difficult to shoot around downtown without having homeland security officers, police, or security take notice and harass you. Know your shooting rights!”  The video is brilliant and I’m happy that he went through all the trouble of creating it.

Time lapse video: A very large telescope

I am sure that anyone that follows my blog knows that I love time lapse videos. Here is a new one that is really cool and looks like a scene straight out of Star Wars. What makes this special is the video is shot at the European Southern Observatory’s Very Large Telescope (VLT) in Chile’s Atacama Desert and shows laser beams generated from a telescope which is sent to the atmosphere to produce artificial stars. This is used for real time measurements against other stars and distortions that show up on the imaging.
