This eight and a half minute video is from the point of view of the Space Shuttle Solid Rocket Booster with sound mixing and enhancement done by the folks at Star Wars/Skywalker Sound. Watch as the shuttle reaches speeds of up to 3000mph! The sound is all from the camera microphones and not fake or replaced with foley artist sound. Amazing.
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away….there were these Angry Birds, and now they have collided with Star Wars, which will bring possibly the most epic Angry Birds game to date: Angry Birds Star Wars. Coming November 8th, Rovio will be releasing their most prized game. I can’t wait. If you can’t either, Rovio has a special Angry Birds Star Wars Tumblr page up with some cool stuff worth checking out.
If you’re a fan of Banksy, Superheroes or just art in general and you own a Macbook or an iPad, you should enjoy these decals from Mac Modify. I like them all, but the Superman and Darth Vader are my favorites. Since these are made specifically for Macs which are 13 inches wide, most should fit the iPad (which is 9.5 inches wide) but in some cases may need to be cut to fit, but it still would work and would look pretty darn good.
There are many popular Star Wars characters that have come out of the famous movie series such as Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Jabba the Hutt, and Yoda. Another one that has peaked pop culture over the years was Han Solo, played by Harrison Ford who became a huge movie star.
Recently Twitter decided to consolidate and unify it’s logo of the Titter bird, changing it slightly. Before the recent change, Twitter had changed their bird logo back in 2010. So in the past two years it’s changed twice. Cartoonist Ape Lad who works for Disney Interactive has illustrated his own interpretations of the Twitter logo of the past two years and morphed them into your favorite characters such as Krusty the Clown, Marilyn Monroe, Woody Woodpecker, The Hulk, Gumby, Star Wars characters and more. Here are some of my favorites.

When it comes to computer case modifications, I have seen some very creative ones in the past. I particularly liked the Wall-E case mod, but this one takes the cake. It’s a perfect looking replica of a Star Wars AT-AT, with some awesome glowing red lights in the interior, which opens up from the outside. Geekologie says it “looks impressive.” Yeah, I’d say so! The AT-AT case mod was created by Asphiax.
Lego builds can be fun, but for some, they take it to another level beyond what many of us can dream up. Some of these are mind boggling, for example the Super NES replica, pictured inset which holds an actual SNES cartridge, or this Porshe 918 Spyder replica pictured below.
If you are a Star Wars fan, I am sure you’re going to get excited over this artwork by Ornicar that I came across on Deviant Art. I have seen some cool Star Wars illustrations before, but these really capture the moment of each Star Wars scene in great detail.
This may very well be the funniest thing I have seen in a while. It’s also a travesty at the same time. I’m sure most of you have seen the commercials for Kinect Star Wars, which the game looks bad ass and I really want to play it when it comes out. As part of the game, there is a mini-game within it for Dance Central with the Star Wars characters. This is where things get epic.
Ok, so maybe you can’t buy a real Star Wars TIE fighter on Craiglist, but you can get the next best thing. Someone in Olympia, Washington is selling a 1/3 scale replica of a TIE fighter. It’s 8x8x8 feet and built out of wood. If you have $150 and are near Olympia, it’s all yours.
If you are a Star Wars fan, I think you’ll dig this. It’s a stop motion video of the Millennium Falcon built entirely out of Legos. The entire model, put together by Francisco Prieto, was made out of 5,344 Lego pieces and took one year to complete the model and 670 hours of rendering to create the video. Talk about dedication.
With great sadness, I learned that Ralph McQuarrie, the famous artist who designed and illustrated Star Wars characters like Darth Vader, Chewbacca, C3PO, R2D2 and Jabba the Hut, including many other concepts for Star Wars has passed away today. His imagination held no boundaries. May the Force be with him.
I am channeling my inner Pauly D for my excitement here. Star Wars and Lucas Films have released their official iOS gaming app for iPhone and iPad. Although I am excited, it’s not the iOS game that I would have hoped for, but hey, it’s Star Wars.
Last year’s Volkswagen Superbowl commercial with the kid trying to do the Force on his dad’s VW was a hit. So naturally Volkswagen isn’t going to let it’s popularity just disappear after one commercial. This year’s Superbowl commercial has already been posted by VW to YouTube, which is a continuation from last year’s commercial, with a very cute dog too. Which commercial do you like better - the Dog or the Kid?
