The Blue Marble is a famous photograph of the Earth taken by the crew of Apollo 17 in 1972, which showed a super clear image of the Earth illuminated by the Sun in a view that was never seen before. For the past 40 years this image of Earth has been one of a few images that we have, but it has now finally been complimented with The Black Marble, stunning hi-res images of Earth at night.

The long awaited, anticipated and now, finally happen-ated; Instagram is releasing web profiles for it’s users! Instagram was built originally for mobile devices, and has been largely popular, but since desktop web surfing is still the primary way to navigate the Internet, web profiles for Instagram users has always been something that everyone has wanted.
A common problem people have with Facebook is that they make it next to impossible to get your photos out of the social network without having to click on every single photo and save it. To export your photos from Facebook, it’s a big chore. It’s one of the reasons Google+ created Data Liberation, which are tools within Google to export all your data with ease.
One of the tools I use to enhance my photos before posting to Instagram, and I would say I use it about 90% for every photo, is Snapseed. It’s just an amazing app that let’s you edit photos down to every last detail. From saturation, contrast, ambiance, brightness, and filters like vintage, drama and grunge, you can do everything Instagram can do and more. It’s a powerful image editing app that I would recommend to anyone.
If you are a GIMP user you may enjoy this. For those that aren’t aware, GIMP is a free alternative to Adobe Photoshop. Photoshop is one expensive piece of software that allows you to heavily manipulate images. GIMP does very similar manipulations, in most cases the same as Photoshop but it’s free. GIMP stands for GNU Image Manipulation Program.
Instagram isn’t just for social photo sharing. It’s also an art form taken seriously by the most reputable photographers in the world. For example, Xavius takes his photos on Instagram very serious, so serious that he has created his own business surrounded around the efforts he and others put forth to create such king-like photos. The ever popular photo sharing app Instagram is awesome, but only being able to view it on your mobile device can at times seem monotonous. I’ve talked about different ways to view Instagram photos outside of your mobile device in the past, and even Instagram has hinted at bringing photos and profiles to the web. But a Kickstarter project called Instacube is a new fun way to view Instagram outside of your mobile devices.
If there is one thing that everyone can agree on that is a lacking about Instagram is that it’s missing an official website for it’s users. Since Instagram was built specifically for mobile, iPhone first then later released on Android, there is no official website for users to display their photos.
