I’m sure we have all been in this situation at some point or another. Your mobile device is dead, or close to dying, and you have no electricity to juice it up. Maybe your power is out at your home due to a bad storm, or you are out on a trail biking or camping and you need to charge your battery. Your savior will be your own human power and a cool gadget.

Starting this past weekend, a simple unlock of your iPhone or your Android could get you a hefty fine, and if you plan to profit off selling unlocked phones it could land you in prison for up to five long years, locked up with murderers and rapists and a fine of up to $500,000 all because you want to sign up with another carrier service.

The numbers don’t lie. Apple’s finally starting to hit a peak and not rise at the same pace as they did in years past. Ever since 2007 and the introduction of the iPhone, Apple’s sales and stock has done nothing but skyrocket. But in this past year, results have been disappointing.

Yikes! You know things are bad when the CEO of your multi-billion dollar company has to publicly apologize to it’s customers for such a poor product. That is just what Apple CEO Tim Cook did today. In an open letter to customers, Tim Cook says that Apple “fell short” on Apple Maps and are “extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused.”

Today is the big day, the day that the “new iPhone” or “iPhone 5” as many are saying will be announced to the general public at the Apple event in Yurba Buena, pictured inset. As an iPhone user, it’s exciting to finally put all the rumors to rest. That is all they are as of now anyways, rumors, until we get confirmation that the iPhone 5 will have several new and updated features.
