You know Apple Maps is bad when the Apple CEO has to publicly apologize

Yikes! You know things are bad when the CEO of your multi-billion dollar company has to publicly apologize to it’s customers for such a poor product. That is just what Apple CEO Tim Cook did today. In an open letter to customers, Tim Cook says that Apple “fell short” on Apple Maps and are “extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused.”

Apple just pushed the release of iOS6 to all Apple devices, and is now available for download. I just updated my iPhone and I am checking out iOS6, and so far so good!

Today the new iPhone 5 will be announced

Today is the big day, the day that the “new iPhone” or “iPhone 5” as many are saying will be announced to the general public at the Apple event in Yurba Buena, pictured inset. As an iPhone user, it’s exciting to finally put all the rumors to rest. That is all they are as of now anyways, rumors, until we get confirmation that the iPhone 5 will have several new and updated features.

The Chameleon Clock

The Chameleon Clock is a clever iOS application that uses the rear facing camera to display the ‘background’ of the device, giving the illusion that the device is see-through, while displaying the time right on the screen. The camera uses a live feed to display whatever is behind it, so I’d imagine it uses up a good bit of the battery. The clock app retails in iTunes for $.99 cents, so not too shabby for a neat application that you can use to fool your friends with. Apple gets with the times and adds gay and lesbian emoticons

Breaking news! Ok not really breaking, but an interesting catch by a reader of Gizmodo who got a glimpse of the new iOS6 update. In the update in the emoticons section, there are two new additions: a gay male couple and a lesbian female couple, who are pictured inset holding hands.

Facebook, Maps, Siri, Safari all get the spotlight in Apple’s iOS6 update

At the Apple World Wide Developers conference today, Apple made the official, and long rumored statement that Facebook will be fully integrated into Apple iOS6. So for all the iPhone and iPad users out there, this should be a welcomed changed.
