The same generation that grew up in the 80’s and 90’s on Sesame Street and the Cookie Monster, is now the same generation that is the most digitally connected. A report from Nielsen indicates that Americans 18-34 are “redefining media consumption” with their unique embrace of everything digital.
Stay connected! You used to hear that a lot. Now it’s disconnect! I think I have wrote about it several times now, where our digital lives are becoming consumed by technology. Sometimes it’s a great thing and sometimes it can be too much. Is the tradition of a stone tombstone engraved with our name, life span and short personal message soon to be a thing of the past? Has the world become so digitized now that we feel our tombstones should be tied to our digital lives?
If you are saying no, you are probably wrong. In the traditional sense, there will always be “stone” tombstones. But part of it will soon be our connection to the digital world.
