‘Shoppin as they call it, or Photoshopping is all the rage these days. Manipulating images has become so easy with so many different free and paid programs. People have become so skilled at using Photoshop to alter images, it’s almost impossible to tell explicitly if an image has been altered or not. For example, look at how skilled this person is.
TMZ may not always be the most credible of news sources, but they break a lot of news which usually has some basis to it and in many cases turns out true. TMZ just earned one thing in common with Lady Gaga and President Obama: TMZ just joined Tumblr.
Many celebrities are facing possible litigation by the Office of Fair Trade (OFT) in the UK because of their tweets to promote products via their Twitter accounts. If a celebrity (or anyone for that matter) is tweeting, blogging or posting online a product they are being paid to endorse and are not disclosing this information it is deceptive under fair trading laws according to the OFT.
“Online promotional activity, just like any other promotional activity, must clearly identify when promotions and editorial comment have been paid for, so that consumers are not misled” says the OFT.
