At the annual AdAge Digital conference, Tumblr CEO David Karp (pictured inset) said that advertisers will soon be able to buy ad units on the Featured area of the Tumblr Dashboard.
When you talk about blogs and blogging platforms in 2012, you can’t help but also hear about Tumblr. Sites like Blogspot and LiveJournal are becoming non-players when it comes to blogging. Posterous was a threat at one point, but their time has ended as well. So what’s left? Well you have the big one, WordPress, and you also have Tumblr.
Sharing your Tumblr blogs on Facebook just got a whole lot easier thanks to some new Tumblr-to-Facebook integration. In the past, you had to manually share your Tumblr posts directly into Facebook using the status update. That is now a thing of the past, unless you care to continue doing that manually.
I love Tumblr, how customizable it is and being able to do almost anything possible with it. It really makes it the best blogging platform around, and for that I am grateful. Not to mention all the wonderful people on Tumblr, which adds the social experience to it making it even better than one can imagine. There are a few things that I wish Tumblr had, with custom 404 error pages being one of them.
What a day. I just found out Yahoo! is suing Facebook, and now I see that Twitter just acquired Posterous. Change is good though, so no complaints here, as change typically drives innovation.

Tumblr just added a new way for your blog posts to get a little extra attention in the Tumblr Dashboard (user feed). On Tumblr, you can follow other people, and you see their posts in your feed, just like with Twitter. Starting today, you can pay $1.00 to “highlight” your blog posts to your followers, giving it a giant bright tag of sorts that will surely stand out in the feed.
