West Coast Customs builds life-size Mario Karts for Nintendo

Nintendo 3DS recently released the first version of Mario Kart in 3D. To help Nintendo bring Mario Kart to life for an even bigger 3D experience, Nintendo commissioned West Coast Customs to build a life-size functional models of the Mario and Luigi cars. You might remember WC Customs from their popular MTV show with Xzibit where they would “pimp your ride.” They really outdid themselves though with their life-size Mario cars which were unveiled at the 2011 LA Auto Show.

Photoshop CS6 to include 3D features and more

Adobe’s Creative Suite image editing software program Photoshop should be coming out with it’s newest version sometime around Spring 2012. When it comes out, it’s going to have a whole bunch of new features. Most notably confirmed in beta testing, Photoshop will have new 3D features that will have a whole slew of 3D functions to enhance shadowing and modify image axis for better 3D quality.

Google built a never ending bookcase

In a Chrome Experiment from Google, they built their very own online WebGL infinite bookcase. The bookcase just like a real one lets you browse books by subject, over 10,000 of them. The bookcase is three dimensional and by clicking on any book it will open up to Google Books using their API. If this bookcase looks familar to you, it’s because back in July Google built a live and working model at their Google NY offices.
