Twitter introduces cover photos to profiles
Looks like Twitter may have finally caught up to other social networks that have been doing this for a while now. Most recently, with Facebook who introduced cover photos with Timeline a year ago, and before that, something Myspace had for quite a while. Now Twitter can say they have cover photos too.
In a blog post just published by Twitter, starting today you can upload your own cover photo to your Twitter profile, which will be visible on both the desktop website and mobile site/app. Called the Header Photo, you can go to your Twitter settings and upload a new cover photo which should be available now to everyone.
Twitter made some other subtle changes today, such as photo streams now appear below recent tweets on the mobile experience and they added a “Me” tab to the top navigation menu. I just loaded a cover photo to my Twitter profile just to check it out (pictured inset). What are your thoughts on this new change? Is it a nice touch to your Twitter profile?
