New iPhone 5 will have smaller 19-pin port
According to multiple sources familiar with Apple’s new iPhone 5 release, Reuters is confirming the rumors that the new iPhone 5 will indeed have a much smaller bottom port connection. Changing from the wider and standard 30-pin port to a much smaller 19-pin port.
The change is supposedly so Apple can move the headphone jack down to the bottom of the iPhone. This will create additional space on top, which could make room for what? It’s unclear yet, but the rumor seems to have solidified. The iPhone 5 should go on sale later this year in October.
