No water needed: How to put out fire with sound

It’s a simple concept really. All you need are two very loud speakers on both sides of a fire. Put on some Nicki Minaj, turn the bass up super high so you can hear that boom, badoom, boom, and watch the flames extinguish using physics. The flames are suppressed because the sounds increase air speeds, and the combustion thins and the temperature drops thus making the flames go out.

This Instant Fire Suppression contraption was made by DARPA, who even says they aren’t sure how to use such a device in a real world scenario, but it’s cool to know alternative ways on putting out fires.
