Instagram may finally be building website profiles

If there is one thing that everyone can agree on that is a lacking about Instagram is that it’s missing an official website for it’s users. Since Instagram was built specifically for mobile, iPhone first then later released on Android, there is no official website for users to display their photos.

Instagram does have it’s own official website, which allows you to adjust your settings, manage apps that are tied to your profile, and has an official blog - but since it’s inception, Instagram has never had a home for users on the web. We have had to resort to third party websites like Gramfeed, Webstagram or Instagram for Chrome. Whatever the scenario, third party sites are okay, but every user would like an official place on the web to share their Instagram photos.

According to one user’s good eye, when on the official Instagram website he noticed a new “View Profile” button, where normally it just says Edit Profile and Log Out. This new View Profile button was non-functional, but gave the impression that Instagram is working on web profiles for their official website. The View Profile button disappeared a few hours later. Sure evidence that something was being tested. Hopefully in the near future, we can have a place to show off our Instagram photos officially. Until then, just go to Instagram and search for davidshares to find me.
