The levitating light, taking wireless to a new realm
I really love it when I see new wireless gadgets and ideas. Wires suck, and if I could have wireless everything I would! So when I saw a levitating wireless light, I was intrigued. I was also happy to see, that such a great thing was born from something so simple (in hindsight of course).
The levitating light is an LED light that hovers in midair, without wires, using good old fashion magnets. Of course there is more to it than just magnets itself, but at it’s core magnets keep it afloat. Electromagnets and coils are used to distribute wireless power to the light. It’s a really neat idea, and although it’s not a commercial product (yet) that you can buy, I can certainly see it in stores sometime in the future.
For now, it will just have to end up being a neat science project to do in your spare time.
