8-bit character Wreck-It Ralph is on a quest to prove he can be a hero
Over the weekend before seeing the movie Brave, they had a trailer for Wreck-It Ralph, which looks like it’s going to be a really good animated movie, with a few of your favorite video game characters that you might remember from when you were younger.
The plot of the movie goes something like this: Ralph is a video game (8-bit) character who after many years of playing the ‘bad guy’ in the game Wreck-it Ralph, decided he wanted to be the good guy for once and leaves the game in search of how to be a hero. What makes the movie enticing for me is all the video games this movie will pay homage too.
In the movie they have classic video game character appearances such as Zangief, Chun-Li, M. Bison from Street Fighter, Bowser from Super Mario, Q*bert and more. They also have vintage scenes like racing in “candy go-karts” just like in Super Mario Kart or when Ralph heads over to a new game called “Hero Duty”, which clearly is a play on the Call of Duty game series. And you can’t forget Wreck-it Ralph the game, which has an uncanny similarity to Donkey Kong and in the game there are parts that are like Nintendo’s Duck Hunt.
All in all, Disney is appealing to many audiences in this new animated film which I really can’t wait to see. It comes out in November of this year. Head on over to the official Wreck-it Ralph Disney website to see Ralph in action.
