Chrome browser is now available on iPhones and iPads
Google finally gets to step into the realm of iOS web browsing. I am very happy about this! Google’s web browser, Google Chrome is now available in Apple devices such as the iPhone and iPad. It’s in the App Store now, just search for Chrome.
The native browser for iOS has and will always be Safari. It’s an ice browser for the web, but I always prefer Chrome or Firefox for the web. Most have been forced into using Safari in Apple devices, and due to that Safari has gained some popularity, but not nearly as much as Chrome has.
After doing a quick run through of Chrome for iOS, it’s somewhat fantastical. You get a lot of the regular browser functions right in the app. There is tabs, bookmarks, search, find, and my absolute favorite - sync. You can login and sync your device to Chrome. I can now open a page on my desktop, and have it automagically open in my Chrome app on my iOS device.
The only downside to Chrome for iOS is that it’s not a native option for iOS, since Apple uses Safari. So anytime you want to open in Chrome, you will have to open the app first, then do your web browsing.
