Google +1 button now displays recommendations
Google just launched a brand new recommendations feature for the Google +1 social sharing button. The button, which I have below this article is used to share the webpage into Google+, which is Google’s social network. It’s just like the Facebook Like button or the Twitter tweet button.
The new recommendations feature, which isn’t released globally yet but should be in the next few days, will show you who has +1’d content from your site, giving you additional recommendations for your users of your website. It’s a great feature that is bundled into the button.
Facebook has a similar feature, which I utilize below as well which is the Facebook Recommendations widget. It’s a standalone widget so it’s useful, but with Google incorporating it into their +1 button it’s more streamlined and a cleaner simplified look. Also, all you have to do is hover over the button to see the recommendations, which is smart so that users can be more enticed by it which could generate more traffic to other parts of your site.
Here is a screen shot of it on this site, which if you hover over the +1 button below, you should see similar results.
