Hacker hits mother load of 79 banks, posts CC’s and account info
A hacker that goes by the name Reckz0r on Twitter has claimed that he was able to hack into over 79 banks from around the world and obtain credit card information of Visa and MasterCard customers. The efforts took several months according to him via some Twitter posts.
Although he claims to have obtained customer info like credit card numbers, security codes, names, addresses, email and phone numbers, he only released portions of the data censored for security reasons. Reckz0r says he is a “grey hat” hacker, so he is not hacking with complete malicious intent as maybe a black hat hacker would be.
It’s said that more than 50 gigabytes of data was hacked. Not all of it was released simply because the size of the hack, and it was just too much data to post. More than 1,700 separate bank account details were included in the release. I am curious to see how some of the banks will react to this data breach. Only one bank was specifically named in a Twitter post from Reckz0r where he names “chase [bank], etc.”
