Google is gearing up to launch social ads on the Google+ social network
If one of the things you enjoy about Google+ is the ad-free environment, that may be changing sometime in the unforeseeable future. In what appears to be chance sighting, someone caught wind of a new job posting on Google for a “Product Marketing Manager, B2B Google Plus”.
In the job posting for a business-to-business marketing manager on the Google+ social network, it clearly says under Responsibilities: “Introduce the Google+ B2B Launch team’s new social features to businesses worldwide. Within one of three areas (core features, social ads, or analytics and platforms), develop the launch positioning and messaging, including how our solutions integrate with the rest of our business offerings.”
The emphasis is mine, but as you can see the position would be discovering ways to get businesses to sign up for ads on the social network. The job posting has since been pulled by Google, but here is the cached page, thanks to Google! I also took a screen capture and posted it below.
