Welcome the world’s newest superhero, Captain China

A new comic book series has been published in China, called Captain China. The comic is very real, and as you might guess it’s pro-China. Captain China dawns a superhero outfit of China’s national flag with a Chinese military hat to match, and has been brought back to life in modern day to show the growth of China’s economy and China’s world power.

In Captain China Volume 1: “The Return of Captain China”, Captain China’s main goal is to stop an assassination attempt on President Barack Obama when he is visiting China.



The comic is available on Amazon and describes the first volume like so:

After 50 years of Cryogenic sleep, Captain China is revived in modern times to demonstrate China’s economic growth and achievement of world power status in the 21st century. Out of time and out of touch with current culture and social climate of China, this once great communist super hero must now stop an assassination attempt on the American President despite all the obstacles in his way!

Captain China is a propaganda-styled comic series aimed at capturing the main-stream consciousness of China. According to Off Beat China, the Captain China superhero was the brainchild of Mao Zedong who was the Chinese communist leader, who died in 1976. The original name of Captain China was supposed to be “The Liberator”, however times have changed and so did Mao’s idea.
