Save money by syncing your Amex card to Twitter

American Express started a neat and new way to save money by using Twitter. If you have an Amex card, you can sync your Twitter account to your Amex account. Then if you tweet a hashtag (ex: #AmexBestBuy) for a special offer from that business, you can get that discount put back onto your Amex account given that you actually go and make that purchase.

Amex Sync is a simple concept that is a super-easy way to save money on your purchases. The only problem I see is keeping up with what current offers there are. For the time being, the Amex Twitter account is favoriting offers, which you can view here. The second problem is, you need an Amex credit card to do this!

If this pans out though, I bet others like Visa and MasterCard will hop on the Twitter bandwagon and do something similar in the future. It’s also a good marketing ploy for participating businesses, who will get free advertising on Twitter with each hashtag sent out.
