Introducing the self-balancing fully-enclosed C-1 electric motorcycle
Yeah, this thing is no joke. It’s as real as the day is long. The C-1 made by Lit Motors is the future of two-wheel motor powered vehicles. The C-1 at this time hasn’t been made yet for consumers, but is a prototype that should hit production lines next year in 2013. The motorcycle boasts a new concept, seen mainly in futuristic movies and in the minds of the imaginative.
The most innovative feature of the C-1 is that it’s self-balancing. Meaning, unlike a traditional two-wheel motorcycle, the C-1 uses an electronically controlled gyroscope stabilizing system to stay up even when thrown off balance, for example if bumped or in an accident. The bike is also two passenger, and another advantage is that it’s fully enclosed. So riding in the rain or cold will be an issue of the past.
Gizmag says the price of this machine will start out somewhere around US$24,000 but could drop down to US$16,000 after mass production begins. Oh by the way, the C-1 is all electric, so fueling and worrying about the price of oil up won’t be an issue either.
