Conspiracy theorists always come out of the woodwork when something major like the Boston Marathon bombing happens, and at times, rightfully so. Things can get messy fast, confusing, and hard to keep track of and understand which leads to questions and conspiracies.
It’s not often one gets cited as a source in an ABC News World Report, so it’s kind of exciting to see this video, at least for me (:32 seconds into the video to be exact). After the Boston Bomber manhunt concluded, I posted a tweet of the picture of the boat owner, which was subsequently picked up by ABC News.
After many hours and a long intense manhunt today for the second Boston Marathon bomber, the manhunt is over and the bomber has been found and apprehended by the police, and is injured but alive. The terrorist bomber’s name is Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, and he is known as the white hat bomber.
It looks like yesterday’s FBI appeal to the public for help on finding the Boston Marathon bombers had worked. Enough so either they were tipped off last night, or the bombers figured the jig was up and had to make a move. Now one is dead, and another is still on the loose as a massive manhunt ensues this morning in Boston.
The Boston Globe was able to find images of the Boston Marathon bombers, and send them to the authorities. Now the FBI has released additional images of the suspected bombers to the public, so we can help find them and bring them to justice - so let’s make it happen!
Facebook is cool and all, but most days I prefer Twitter, Google+, and Tumblr. But even though I personally do like Facebook at times, do I really want it shoved down my throat 24/7? I mean let’s face it - we are on our mobile devices the majority part of our days. Do I want to spend all of my time on Facebook? Like the saying goes, “if you have too much of a good thing, something pleasant becomes unpleasant.” This may be the beginning of the end for Facebook.
This may be one of the best TEDtalks I have ever seen. It’s just amazing. If you have twenty minutes to spare out of your day, you will not be disappointed as activist and fundraiser Dan Pallotta calls out the double standard that drives our broken relationship to charities. It’s thought provoking, and a call to action.
When I come across something or someone that inspires, I love to share it because at one time or another, we all need a little inspiration in our lives. What I find the most gratifying though is when I find inspiration from a child. Their so innocent, and for some, they are wise beyond their years.
The home page of your website is like a first interview for a new job, except you’re dealing with potential customers. Making a good first impression is imperative, but if you say too much — or not enough — then you’ve potentially ruined a business relationship, as people often visit websites before visiting, calling or e-mailing. If your home page is confusing, they aren’t likely to peruse further. They might even believe your entire business operates in a confusing, disordered way.
As they say, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” Is it possible that your Instagram photo filter says a lot more about you than just the filter you are using? According to Marketo, the answer is yes.
I’m sure we have all been in this situation at some point or another. Your mobile device is dead, or close to dying, and you have no electricity to juice it up. Well well well. You may have wondered why people have used hashtags in the past on Facebook, when it does nothing on the social networking site. Soon, that may all change.
File this under very cool. Digg, a content consumption website akin to the early days of the web, that eventually fell apart and failed while similar sites like Reddit took off, is offering up a better solution to the Google Reader massive fail today.
Pictured inset is my Google Reader account. I have many many subscriptions, and thousands of updates daily for Reader. I can’t tell you how much I love, enjoy, and utilize Google Reader every day. That is why I am so disappointed, saddened, upset and every negative emotion I can think of, that Google is shutting down Reader.
