World's largest photo: Philosophical Library
In Prague, Czech Republic, the world’s largest photograph has been taken by photographer Jeffrey Martin. The photo is of the ancient Philosophical Library at Strahov Monastery which is 868 years old. This image was created from 3,000 individual photos stitched together into a single image that is 280,000 x 140,000 pixels. That’s around 40 gigapixels, or 40,000 megapixels. If you...

Google's Robert Bunsen Logo
Today is Robert Bunsen’s 200th birthday. If you didn’t know, just go Google and they have a special logo for him today to commemorate him. Everyone should probably know who Robert Bunsen is, just think the Bunsen Burner. Most everyone learned about that and used it in high school! The logo is really cool and shows an animated chemistry set in action.

Serena Williams banned Top Spin 4 video
Serena Williams is arguably one of the sexiest women in tennis, in sports for that matter. I personally think Anna Kournikova is hotter, but that is neither here nor there :) In a new commercial for Top Spin 4, the tennis series game, Serena is The World’s Sexiest Tennis Player and battles it out against The World’s Sexiest Tennis Gamer. Quite the video. As they say, sex sells!

The Golden Gate Bridge speech
Last week TechCrunch posted a video of a 15 min speech by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey. I finally got around to watching and it was well worth it. Very motivational speech and anybody should watch it, especially if you are a designer and/or engineer. Dorsey really nails home the message of design with this Golden Gate Bridge analogy. Let me know what you think about it in the comments!

Mike Tyson's Main Event 2011
Mike Tyson’s Punch Out on NES to me was one of the best games ever! Growing up, I was a big fan of Tyson. Being one of the greatest boxers, he of course had his own game. Now, he is back, with a new game for the iPhone called Mike Tyson - Main Event created by Rock Software. I am really excited about this game. I love my iPhone and I can now play some boxing. Let’s just hope it...

Welcome to the Gates of Hell
If you ever plan on visiting Turkmenistan, think again, well that is if you know where Turkmenistan is? Turkmenistan is sandwiched between Iran and Uzbekistan and borders Afghanistan.
In Turkmenistan you can find Hell, sort of. In Derweze, a village in Turkmenistan there is a crater that is 230 feet wide. Oh yeah, and it’s been burning for 40 years! Hence the name, Door to Hell...

The Bronx Zoo's Cobra snake is out on the town
On Monday there was a realization at the Bronx Zoo that their beloved and venomous Cobra snake had disappeared. As of right now, it’s no where to be found. The zoo thinks hiding out somewhere in the reptile house. I don’t think so. According to the snake’s Twitter, it’s “out on the town.” Follow BronxZoosCobra on Twitter

Laptop thief gets pwned
Just about two months ago I blogged about Mark Bao who I found to be inspirational. Since then he had a run in with a thief that stole his laptop. See, what the thief didn’t know was that Mark had backup software on his laptop that he was still able to access remotely. Mark was able to access the laptop’s hard drive and he found a video of the thief, dancing, to music, like an...

Plus it comes with an easy-to-use video editor. It’s free to download in the App Store. source,...

Hitler reacts to Rebecca Black's Friday
I am sure everyone knows who Rebecca Black is by now and her viral video Friday. I do feel bad for the girl because the entire Internet has ganged up on her when all she was trying to do is have some fun, you know. I have stayed away from poking fun, however, after watching Hitler react to her song, I can no longer resist. I have to share this, as it literally had me laughing out loud! This...

Solar charging touchscreen
I love this, I want this, everyone should have this. As it’s said in the video, it has many applications. I am talking about a very thin piece of film called Photovoltaic where you can place it over your touchscreen and harness solar power or any light source for that matter and charge your device. It’s constantly charging and you never have to use a charging station/plug-in again...

In December it was announced the Qatar will be the host of the 2022 World Cup. If you don’t know where Qatar is, it’s in the Middle East right next to Saudi Arabia and it’s part of the United Arab Emirates.
Note: Qatar is the wealthiest country in the world (U.S. is 6th). So when it comes to money, it’s not an issue for this Arab nation which it’s economic status...

Google launches its very own online magazine
This came completely under the radar which is unlike Google. Google launched a quarterly online magazine called Think Quarterly. It’s where you can read and get thoughts and insight from the search juggernaut in an easy to read online format. You can go full screen which is the best way to view it on a desktop. The mobile application is well made too. Can this be a Flip Board...

Yahoo!'s new search looks familiar but has a twist
Yahoo! just launched a new beta search feature called Search Direct. It might look very familiar to you. It looks like Yahoo! is jumping on the instant search bus and is now providing instant search results just like Google does with Google Instant. I can’t blame them though, instant search results are great. But there is a twist to this. Unlike with Google Instant, Yahoo!’s search...

Kim Kardashian poses with a live tiger
It’s not often that we get to see two things that we really like. Tigers and Kim Kardashian. Kim’s Celebuzz site released photos of her shoot where she is posing with a live tiger for the sixth season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Even though the tiger is chained, takes a bit of cajones to step in the ring with a live tiger.

How to get the iPad2 cover for your first gen iPad
If the best thing of the iPad2 unveiling was the Smart Cover then you are like me. The sad part is the cover only works on the iPad2 and not the first gen iPad. Well, someone with enough desire to have the Smart Cover decided to glue on some rare earth magnets to their first gen iPad and voilà, rigged the cover to it. It works, but doesn’t turn on the iPad and isn’t so stable....

Chris Brown goes berzerko on GMA
Today Chris Brown went on Good Morning America to promote his new album F.A.M.E. TMZ is reporting that after the interview Brown went crazy and smashed a window and left the studio shirtless.
If you watch the interview, you can sympathize with him in the sense that Robin Roberts who did the interview kept rehashing the now two year old issue with Rihanna and the domestic abuse case. I...

How the Kinect is revolutionizing medicine

Now the Kinect is taking...

A Nintendo controller for your iPad
Old School, meet iPad. iPad, meet Old School. This is awesome on many levels, but I love this idea. This guy hacked his old style Nintendo controller to work with his iPad using conductive arms that simulate touches on screen. I would really think for NES, 8-bit, old school fans, Nintendo should make a controller compatible with a line of NES games for the iPad. New technology with games we...

Engineers hack cars with digital music
Do you remember the Will Smith movie Independence Day where aliens invaded Earth? If you never saw it you should, it was a good movie. Do you recall the way Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum were able to take down the alien mothership? They were able to by basically going into the mothership and uploading a virus to it which was able to crash it. It looks like now engineers have found a way to do...

Internet startup bo.lt was offering a free iPad2 to people at SXSW 2011 in Austin, TX. The catch, you have to get a tattoo of their company logo on your body! Their logo is of an elephant with a lightnig bolt where the elephant tusk would be. It’s not a bad logo, but would you get a tattoo of it in exchange for a free iPad2?

What may be in store for us in the future
Nobody knows for sure how the future will be. How will the technology serve us, what will things be like? Based off of today’s tech, some theorize. This video to me seems like a pretty accurate depiction of how the future might be for all of us. Talk about living in a glass house. Outside of a couple of things that startled me more than amazed me, I really do see a lot of this coming to...

Drunken Nintendo Breathalyzer
This is probably the best use of an old Nintendo system I have ever seen! It’s called the Drunken-NES. It’s a drinking game developed just for the old 8-bit NES. You play by blowing into the game cartridge just like a breathalyzer. Also just like you used to blow into the games when they wouldn’t work. I love this. I hope they make some that people can buy.
